Newsroom – 21 hours ago View Photo Eric Tsang to bring back Andy Lau and Chow Yun Fat for TVB 6 Sep - As the battle for airwaves between TVB, CTI and Now TV is heating up for next year, TVB is bringing in their big guns to establish themselves as the dominant force in Hong Kong television with Eric Tsang planning to bring back megastars Andy Lau and Chow Yun Fat to star in a drama for TVB, according to Jayne Stars. Not content with director Wong Jin's plans to have Deanie Ip appear in his epic drama of love, family and revenge, TVB major shareholder Charles Chan has asked Eric Tsang to produce a drama that will feature the big names of Hong Kong's entertainment industry to make the television station synonymous with Hong Kong culture. Eric has revealed that he is currently in discussion with good friend Andy Lau, to create a good script for a 30 to 40 episodes drama that the new father would be featured in, although the script is most likely to be prepared only by next year. "I wish to bring movement to Hong Kong's TV culture. Andy Lau's work and moral ethics are something that young actors and actresses can be inspired by. His return would again bring forth a climax to TVB," Eric said during the opening of a karaoke establishment recently. "As several other popular and successful movie stars started out from TVB, he wished that they would return to the TV station. This would be an enormous encouragement to the new actors and actresses," he said. Recent Miss Hong Kong finalist Tracy Chu has been one of the names mentioned that could appear in Eric's new drama and other celebrities have been flocking to the project to get a chance to work with the singer and actor. Eric added: "Andy has agreed that we should discuss the script first. Andy is only interested in a meaningful series. If it's worth it to film, money would not be the priority. Only the success of the drama would matter!" Meanwhile, Eric also said that he plans to approach long-time TVB alumni Chow Yun Fat to appear in his drama. "If I'm able to bring back one star using my sincerity. I have confidence to bring many, many more stars back to TVB. Andy Lau and Chow Yun Fat are both responsible people.
